Wanted to remind everyone that my next kiriban is in less than 1k!! Grab the 15k view and I'll do a little something for ya.

Also wanted to remind everyone that ~Rya-kun and my contest ends in a little over a month! Also, we currently have no entries in ~Rya-kun's category; if less than three entries are in each category, the categories will be null and void and the only category will be what we think kicks ass. So if you want to be eligible for more prizes, we need to up our game, people!

The preview is of Nabooru, but the story behind it showcases my beloved Eshenan and his mother Kurasi, and was one of the better portrays of and one of the best-written stories featuring my characters that I've ever had the privilege to see or read. I tend to find that people are usually skilled in several artistic aspects, but really excel at only one or two; Cari's really blown me away by proving to be as proficient at writing as she is with drawing.

Finally, a Final Fantasy VII meme I stole from =mori-sayurii!
1. The first character you fell in love with:
Tifa and Vincent. I love that Tifa is such a kick-ass chick without being a ball-buster, she's still very feminine and beautiful. Vincent's just a no-brainer, anyone who knows me knows I'm in love with skinny emo goth boys.

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:
Reeve/Caitsith. I wasn't too big on him in FFVII, I thought he was kind of a putz. I really started to like him in Dirge of Cerberus, to the point where Ry and I had this long conversation on how you never know who or where the real Reeve is, since any Reeve could just be another Caitsith. (And if you don't know the FFVII story, this has made absolutely no sense to you.)

3. The character everyone else loves that you don’t [like as much]:
Aeris. She can go die at the end of a giant masamune....OH THAT'S RIGHT!!!! High five!!!! Anyone??? Seriously, her little "oh boo hoo, I'm so self-righteous" attitude made her completely intolerable to me. I went so out of my way to make sure that Tifa or even Barret got the date cutscene with Cloud, just because every time I saw Aeris on screen it made me throw up a little in my mouth.

4. The character you love that everyone else hates:
Rude, I don't think anyone particularly hates him, but I feel like Rude gets overshadowed a lot by Reno's popularity. AND HE COULD BE PLAYED BY VIN DIESEL! I'm serious, look!!!!

5. The character you would shag anytime:
Well, if I were single...eh. I admit to liking Sephiroth, but he's just...almost TOO good-looking, like he wouldn't really need you? I have NO physical attraction to Cloud at all...Vincent, maybe, but there's always the problem that he might call you "Lucretia" during...you know what? Any of the four "Rs" of Shinra: Rufus, Reno, Reeve and Rude. Rufus would probably be a good lover, Reno would just be a lot of fun, Reeve you could always rely on and Rude would just be huge.

6. The character you'd want to be like:
Tifa. Perfect strength and perfect beauty. (I don't fangirl her too much, I swear!)

7. The character you'd slap:
Aeris. And after she dies, Yuffie.

8. A pairing that you love:
In a complete bromance kind of way, I LOVE getting the date scene between Cloud and Barret. Beyond that, as far as an actual pairing, I ship Cloud and Tifa.

9. A pairing that you despise:
Aeris and anyone. Sephiroth and Cloud slash kinda makes me yak, and not because it's yaoi/depicting of two men, but because it's like this huge masturbatory aid to the world's homo-erotic fanartists. It's the thing that EVERYone does. Same with Zack and Cloud.

10. Favorite character:
Favorite playable character is a toss-up between Tifa and Vincent. Favorite non-playable is Rufus. Favorite overall is Sephiroth, I confess.

11. What are your five favorite things about the fandom?
1. There's a lot of common ground there, I'm a huge FFVII (and FF in general) fan, so it's usually good for several hours of conversation filler, and it's a great way to meet people with similar interests and tastes.
2. It leads to really epic movies like FFVII: Advent Children that kicked the ass and shat upon Spirits Within.
3. Easily recognizable cosplays. That's across the board for the Final Fantasy series (still working on my Lulu costume that I can't WAIT to finish!)
4. People who really appreciate good storytelling. I find a good percentage of the fandom to be actually intellectual and intelligent individuals (most...not all). This is a huge breath of fresh air, especially when considered to other fandoms. *coughTwilight*
5. Pretty fanart and good fanfic. I find that when people write good FFVII fiction or draw good FFVII art, it's REALLY good.

12. What are your five least favorite things about the fandom?
1. People who treat this fandom like it is the most important thing in the entire universe, and Heaven help you if you think otherwise. (Mori wrote this and I'm just going to leave it as-is, because I second it whole-heartedly.)
2. The obsessive love that people have for Sephiroth. I admit, I think he's great, but holy crow people, he's a FICtional CHARacter. ficTIONal charACter. fictionAL characTER. Got it yet?
3. Completely random pairings that have absolutely NO basis off of anything except the fan artist/writer's wet dreams. Among the more ridiculous I've seen include Cloud and Barret, Cloud and Vincent, Cloud and Sephiroth, Cloud and Zack (noticing a pattern?), Cid and Aeris, Vincent and Yuffie (OMG she's like, 12 and he's practically immortal), etcetera.
4. People who gasp and squeal whenever they see a rendition of their favorite character on anything anywhere, no matter where they are or who they're with. (I'm pointing my finger at a very adamant Aeris fanboy here who would literally gasp like it was some big freckle-bitching surprise every time she came on the screen during Advent Children).
5. Horrendous fanart and gag-worthy fanfic. There's no happy medium in this fandom, I've noticed; if it's good, it's really good, if it's not good, it's suicide-worthy.

13. Who are your five favourite characters (in order)?
Vincent, Sephiroth, Tifa, Reeve, Rude.

14. Who are your five least favorite characters?
Aeris takes the grand prize, followed by Yuffie, Scarlet, Heidegger, and Palmer. Lard with tea? Ew.

15. What are your five favorite pairings?
Cloud and Tifa, Vincent and Lucretia, Marlene and Denzel, Cid and Shera, and the Black Chocobo and Wonderful Chocobo (yes, I go for that damn Gold every time...)

16. What are your five least favorite pairings?
Cloud and any male, Sephiroth and anyone, and I think that about covers it.

17. Which character are you most like?
According to QuizFarm.com's "What FFVII Character Are You?" and "What FFVII Character Are You Like?" quizzes, it's a tie between Reeve/Caitsith and Cid Highwind. And strangely...I can see that.

18. What is your deep, dark fandom secret?
I privately hope (and wouldn't be surprised to find out) that Reno and Rude are secret lovers. XD

The third entry to ~Rya-kun's and my holiday contest and our first entry to feature one of both of our characters with a character belonging to the artist as well! (Soren in the red shirt is mine, Xannon in the trench coat is Ry's, and Saul with the insane outfit in the middle is Cari's). I just can't stop looking at this picture, and then I start to giggle about it, and then I delve into a mass coughing fit and Ry needs to resuscitate me, and then I stare at the picture a little longer and the whole cycle begins anew.

So I'm checking my e-mail (for once) tonight and I see I've got a message in my in-box entitled "Just saying hi, you mentioned my last name". At first I think it's spam and go to delete, but then I see the sender's surname is "Fauchey" (I won't list the first name here, just in case he doesn't want his name splayed all over the internet via my DA page).

This piques my interest, so I open the e-mail. Turns out it's from a young man whose last name quite literally is "Fauchey"! By coincidence he had Googled his last name (presumably looking for more people with the last name) and came across my use of it on my DA page. He wanted to know if it was my last name as well, since there seem to be very few Faucheys (my gods does that feel weird to say) in the world, and most seem to live in Europe. Apparently, since he's done some research on the name, there were several Faucheys who fought in WWII and were KIA.

Suffice it to say, it was just a little surreal to see my favorite OC's nick-name in my in-box! I e-mailed him back to say that no, unfortunately my last name isn't Fauchey (oh, but if it were...! ) and explain how I got the derivative. Very cool experience though, and I'm glad of the opportunity to make a new friend...and one with the same name as my character!

One day, as I went down to Cork by the Lee:

Thinks I, "A cold pint wouldn't do me no harm".

I went to the barman; I says, "Give me a stout!" -
Says the barman, "I'm sorry: the beer is sold out;
Try whiskey or vodka ten years in the wood" -
Says I, "I'll try cider - I hear that it's good".

O never! O never! O never again!
If I live to a hundred or a hundred and ten!

After drinking a pint of that Johnny Jump Up!

Cider, I find out now, is one of those drinks that's kicking your ass half-way down the road when you were surely sober enough to drive 10 minutes earlier.

Search any of the serpent generals and you get a sizable if not overwhelming fan following (with the exceptions of Zazarg, who gets no love, and Gadalar, where the search immediately redirects you to =Ivloongoddess83's page).
